Only the name is being changed - Citizens Alliance Bank
CLARA CITY -- Citizens State Bank of Clara City is now the Citizens Alliance Bank, but only the name and logo are changed, according to Jeff Berghuis, president.
"Our ownership, employees, branch locations and commitment to our customers and communities will not be changing,'' he stated in a news release announcing the name.
Letters were sent to all of the bank's customers to notify them of the name change.
Founded in 1902, Citizens State Bank of Clara City has expanded to offer its services in Maynard, Granite Falls, Lake Lillian and Echo in recent years. Each time it expanded into a new market, there was some confusion over the logo that continued the original name, Citizens State Bank of Clara City.
The possibility of continued growth and expansion led the bank's owners and directors to see this as the right time to change the name, according to Philip Forstrom, chairman of the board.
He emphasized that the bank will remain a strong, independent and family-owned bank.
The name Citizens was retained due to customer familiarity with the name, according to Berghuis.
The bank's new tagline -- Customer driven, Community focused -- emphasizes the continued commitment to serve its customers and communities, he added.
