Open house set for Highway 212 work near Granite Falls
WILLMAR -- An open house will be held for anyone interested in learning about the upcoming U.S. Highway 212 concrete rehabilitation project near Granite Falls.
The open house will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. July 1 at the Kilowatt Community Center, 600 Kilowatt Drive, Granite Falls. Representatives from the project contractor, Forby Contracting Inc., and the Minnesota Department of Transportation will be available to answer questions about the project, according to MnDOT.
The 5.5-mile concrete rehabilitation project extends east from the Highway 212, state Highway 67 and state Highway 23 junction in Granite Falls to 2.3 miles east of Highway 23. The project includes removing the deteriorated concrete and replacing it with partial or full concrete panels.
Highway 23 and Highway 212 traffic will be detoured beginning July 7. Highway 23 traffic will be detoured west on Chippewa County Road 38, Chippewa County Road 5, Yellow Medicine County Road 22, to Highway 23.
Highway 212 traffic will be detoured south on Highway 23 to Highway 67, north on Yellow Medicine County Road 21, Renville County Road 10 to Highway 212. For additional information on the project, log onto http://www.dot.state. mn.us/d8/construct.html.
