Open house is Thursday for Highway 23 project near Marshall
WILLMAR -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation will provide information on the state Highway 23 Marshall-to-Russell concrete overlay and pedestrian underpass project from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Marshall MnDOT building, 1800 E. College Dr., in Marshall. Work on the project will begin May 3.
MnDOT staff will provide a project overview and answer questions, said Diane Beck, public affairs coordinator for the MnDOT District 8 office in Willmar.
The concrete overlay project extends east, north of Russell to one-half mile north of junction with Highway 19 in Marshall. The project will remove and replace the deteriorated bituminous surface with full concrete panels, construct a pedestrian underpass, and install lighting and sidewalk. Highway 23 traffic will be detoured.
