Ora M. Hubel June 12, 1908 - April 27, 2009
MONTEVIDEO -- Ora Mae Hubel, 100, of Montevideo died Monday at Home Front Assisted Living in Montevideo.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was born June 12, 1908, in rural Chippewa County to Otto and Lydia (Peters) Gorman. She attended country school in Havelock Township, Chippewa County, until the 8th grade and then left school to help take care of the family and contribute during the Great Depression.
She married William Hubel Jr. in June 1932. She has lived the last several years at Home Front Assisted Living in Montevideo.
She is survived by her daughters: Betty Maus of Maynard, Margaret (and Marshall) St. John of Baxter and Sally (and Blair) Stoddard of Boise, Idaho; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Cleo Thompson of Salem, Ore., Lois Bissonnette and Patsy Huck, both of Minneapolis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, seven sisters, and a son-in-law.
