Orelan L. Ewer

BENSON -- Orelan LeRoy Ewer, 73, of Benson, formerly of Appleton, died Sunday at the Appleton Area Health Services Hospital.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ in Benson. Burial will be in the Bird Island Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Arrangements are by Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson.
He was born March 11, 1935, in Olivia to Chester and Beverly (Goetzman) Ewer. He grew up and attended school in Olivia through the 12th grade. He lived in Coon Rapids and was a janitor at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis for 25 years.
He married Mary W. Schmidt in 1990 in Coon Rapids. They moved to Appleton in 1996 and lived there for eight years. Due to failing health, they moved to Benson, where Orelan lived at Homestead North. Most recently, he lived at the Appleton Nursing Home.
He is survived by his wife; a brother: Chester (and Arlene) Ewer of Fridley; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ewer.
