Orrin Lecy Jan. 26, 1909 - Dec. 7, 2008
ECHO -- Orrin Lecy, 99, of Echo, died Sunday at Parkview Home in Belview.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Rock Valle Lutheran Church, rural Echo. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the church. Military rites will be conducted by the Granite Falls Honor Guard. Arrangements are with the Sunset Funeral and Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso.
He was born Jan. 26, 1909 in Echo. He enlisted in the army in 1942 and was trained at Camp Hale, Colo., for service in the Norwegian ski troop. He served in the 99th Battalion of Company B in the Army and served in the Battle of the Bulge, then in Norway where he received a citation from King Olaf. He was honorably discharged in 1945. He bought the family farm and farmed until he retired.
He is survived by sisters: Orda Lecy and Junneth Stevens and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister and six brothers.
