Outdoors: Camp Ripley trail open house Nov. 15

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) invites anyone with an interest in the proposed Camp Ripley/Veterans State Trail to attend a trail-planning open house Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Morrison County Courthouse, 213 S.E. First Ave., Little Falls.

The Camp Ripley/Veterans State Trail began as a local initiative of the Little Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau, with support from local jurisdictions and private trail user groups. Through this interest and support, the trail was legislatively authorized in 2009 as part of the state trail system, with the intent of connecting Crow Wing State Park and the Paul Bunyan State Trail, Camp Ripley, the Soo Line Trail, and the cities of Pillager and Little Falls.

At the Nov. 15 open house, the first of three open houses planned, officials will share information about the study and existing conditions.
