Outdoors: Conservation Calendar
Raingarden Workshop -- The Middle Fork Crow River Watershed District will be hosting a raingarden workshop at 6:30 p.m. Thursday Nov. 17 at Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center, rural Spicer. Participants will learn about storm water and its impacts and how raingardens can help mitigate the impacts and improve water quality in our local lakes and streams. Raingardens are shallow depressions in the landscape that collect storm water from impervious surfaces. They filter pollutants, reduce flooding downstream, and help recharge groundwater aquifers. The fee is $5 per person and the registration deadline is Nov. 11. Call the MFCRWD at 320-796-0888, e-mail Sara Jacobson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Little Crow Archers -- club open house will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at the range, 435 Benson Ave. S.W., in downtown Willmar. Everyone welcome.
