OLIVIA -- Patricia M. "Pat" Erickson, 74, of Olivia, died Wednesday at the Renville County Hospital in Olivia.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Faith United Methodist Church in Olivia. Private burial will be in the Olivia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia with a prayer service at 5 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was born Jan. 21, 1935, in Hanska to Alvin and Myrtle (Paulson) Strom. She graduated from Hanska High School and attended Macalester College where she received a teaching certificate. She taught school at New Ulm, Fairfax and Hector for several years.
She married Donald J. Erickson on June 16, 1957, in Hanska and they moved to Olivia. She worked as an executive secretary for Trojan Seed Co. in Olivia for many years. She was a founding member and part owner of Keltgen Seed Co. in Olivia. After she retired, she went to work as a bailiff at the Renville County Court House. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Olivia where she often assisted with the funeral committee.
She is survived by her husband; five children: James and Lynn Erickson of Belle Plaine, Julie and Jim Kohout of Olivia, Jeanne and Bill Welchance of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Joanne and Dan Reinert, Jon Erickson, both of Olivia; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and a brother: Michael (and Judy) Strom of Watertown, S.D.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
