NEW LONDON - Paul H. Roediger age 85, of New London died on Sunday, September, 15, 2013, at GlenOaks Care Center in New London. His funeral service will be 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at Johnson Funeral Home in New London. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in New London. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4-7:00pm at Johnson Funeral Home in New London and continue for one hour prior to the service.
Paul Henry Roediger was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on June 10, 1928, the son of Walter and Marie (Egbert) Roediger. When Paul was a child the family moved to Kettlersville, OH, where he graduated from an area high school. On June 15, 1948, Paul was united in marriage to Phyllis Shoemaker. This union was blessed with a daughter and two sons. Paul and Phyllis lived in Sidney, OH and Hudson, WI, where he worked various jobs including farming and bee keeping. The family moved to New London in 1957. Paul owned his own business where he dealt in minnows. He also was a very successful Rupp Snowmobile dealer from 1969-1974. Paul worked with the minnows for 34 years before retiring in 1991.
Paul was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in New London. He was also a member of the New London Hunting Club and a founding member of the Little Crow Golf Course. Paul enjoyed hunting but his passion in life was fishing, spending many summers at his cabin in northern Minnesota fishing for Walleye and winters in Florida fishing for Crappies. When he wasnt fishing Paul looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Paul H. Roediger died on Sunday, September, 15, 2013, at GlenOaks Care Center, he was 85. Paul is survived by his wife of 65 years, Phyllis; children, Colleen Knapp of Elk River, Kerry Roediger of Brooten, and Keith (Mary) Roediger of Litchfield; grandchildren, Chris (Kim) Riley, Alison (Brandon) Maier, Travis (Emily) Roediger, Trever Roediger, Carissa (Lucas) Swanson, Cassandra Roediger, Abby Roediger, and James Lehnhoff; great grandchildren, Mack and Alex Riley, Peyton and Addison Maier, Ayla Roediger, and Adriana Swanson. Paul is also survived by his brother, Wayne (Lila) of Brinkley, AR.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Marie; brother, Howard; and son-in-law, Tom Knapp.
