CLARA CITY -- Paul Hoogheem, 68, of Maynard died Thursday at the Granite Falls Hospital.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Harvey Anderson Clara City Funeral Home and one hour before the service Tuesday at the church.
He was born Sept. 4, 1940, in Clara City to Cornelius and Jennie (Peterson) Hoogheem. He grew up in Clara City and attended Clara City Public Schools.
He married Lois Nelson on March 14, 1959, in Clara City. They lived in Clara City, Montevideo and Rogers and moved to Maynard in 1974. He farmed and later worked for Vreeman Construction and drove truck for Fritz Trucking before retiring in 2004. He served in the Army National Guard from 1960 to 1966.
He was a member of Bethany Reformed Church.
He is survived by his wife; sons: Jeffrey (and Nancy) Hoogheem of Maynard, and Myron (and Sara) Hoogheem of Clark, S.D.; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; his mother: Jennie Tebben of Clara City; one brother: Darrel (and Lori) Hoogheem of Marshall; and one sister: Alvina (and Alan) Brouwer of Litchfield.
He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather: Kasjen Tebben, two grandchildren and two sisters.
