Paul Rieckman Nov. 16, 1935 - July 25, 2013
WILLMAR - Paul Rieckman, age 77 of Willmar died on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Memorial service will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be 3:15 pm at Summit Cemetery in Morris, Minnesota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.
Paul Rieckman was born on November 16, 1935 in Morris, Minnesota the son of Richard and Helen (Thomas) Rieckman. He grew up in Morris and graduated from Morris High School. He entered the United States Army in 1953 where he was station in Korea. He received an Honorable Discharge in January of 1955. He was honored with the National Defense Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Ribbon. He was united in marriage to Laural Koland on August 30 1958. Three children were blessed to this union: Keith, Sandra and Karen. He later became a Carpenter Union Representative, moving to Willmar in 1959. Paul later worked as carpenter in Texas for 20 years prior to moving back to Willmar due to health reasons. Paul worked in Willmar and helped construct many churches in the Willmar area. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, deer hunting and feeding birds.
He is survived by his four children: Keith (and Chris) Rieckman of Willmar, Sandra (and Dave) Stahl of Inver Grove Heights, Karen (and James) Warmack of East Grand Forks and son Richard Schnulenburg (and Erica) of Sioux Falls. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Ryan, Brandon, Kyle, Kathleen, James, Julia, Kylie, Kyaina, Maddison; brother, Walter (and Marlys) Rieckman of Moorhead and several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marie Jacobson.
