Paynesville bypass project to be re-bid
WILLMAR -- The Highway 23 bypass project around Paynesville will be re-bid early next year, according to a news release from the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The re-bidding is necessary because MnDOT discovered a discrepancy in the construction plan that could affect the final cost of the project.
The original bids for the project were opened Nov. 20. The discrepancy was discovered during a bid analysis by MnDOT and the Federal Highway Administration. The analysis is done on all projects prior to awarding contracts.
The 7.5-mile bypass project will remain on schedule with grading and widening work to begin in the spring of 2010 with estimated completion in 2012.
