Lt. Maria Agnew told The Wenatchee World that Ezra Thompson of Paynesville left the Nason Creek trailhead on May 25 and was expected Tuesday at Holden Village where he had a summer job clearing trails. Officials think Thompson has gear necessary to survive in the wilderness but not a lot of backcountry experience.

There is a heavy snowpack in the area and high avalanche danger due to rain and warming temperatures.
