Police investigating armed robbery in gas station parking lot

WILLMAR -- Willmar Police are asking anyone with information about a Saturday night armed robbery in the Super America parking lot to contact the department at 320-235-2244. The case remains under investigation.

According to a news release from Sgt. Michael Anderson, the department was dispatched to the station, at 415 First St. S., around 10:45 p.m. Saturday. Officers learned a Hispanic male in his early to mid-20s approached a customer in the parking lot, brandished a gun and demanded money. The victim, an 18-year-old Spicer resident working as a delivery driver, handed over about $229 in cash and checks.

The suspect then fled the area on foot.
