Police investigating probable assault of Willmar man
WILLMAR -- The victim of a Monday evening incident remains hospitalized at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis with severe head injuries.
According to Willmar Police Chief David Wyffels, local dispatch received a call for medical assistance around 10:30 p.m. Monday to the 500 block of Lakeland Drive Southeast. Officers and medical crews arrived to find a man lying in the parking lot and bleeding from his head.
The man has been identified as Ted Jeffrey Scott Linde, 19, of Willmar.
He was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital before being transferred to HCMC, Wyffels said.
Police canvassed the entire apartment complex, Wyffels said, but found no witnesses to provide information about what happened to Linde. Investigators intend to interview Linde when he gains consciousness.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the police department at 235-2244.
According to a www.caringbridge.org website for Linde, he was flown from Rice to HCMC, where he was put in a medically-induced coma with hemorrhaging of the brain. He also suffered a broken jaw.
