As of Tuesday afternoon, the investigation was ongoing and officers are attempting to contact all individuals believed to have been involved in the incident, according to Willmar Police Officer Marilee Dorn.

According to the report, a small-caliber weapon was used to fire several shots into a vehicle and a home along August Avenue Southeast.

No injuries were reported.

A 22-year-old Willmar man has been arrested for his role in an earlier incident allegedly linked to the drive-by.

Charges against the man are expected to include property damage, violation of an order for protection and domestic assault.

The property damage charge stemmed from car windows being smashed at a residence in the northwest quadrant of the city.

Officers were called around 2:20 a.m. to the same residence in response to a domestic assault, which violated a court-issued order for protection.
