Police say car crash kills 2 people in Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Police say two young women lost their lives and a third person was injured when a car struck a tree in a residential area in south Minneapolis.
Authorities say the crash happened about 10 p.m. Thursday in the Diamond Lake neighborhood. The driver and front seat passenger, both adult females, were killed. Police say a 17-year-old boy in the back seat suffered non-life threatening injuries. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment.
A preliminary investigation shows speed may be a factor in the accident.
