WILLMAR -- "For old times' sake, for fondest ties that mem'ries make, for childhood's dreams when world was new, for friendships tried and true..."

The Prairie Winds Summer Band will be premiering, or re-premiering, "A Kandiyohi County Song," at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rice Park in Willmar.

Mike Dockman, a member of the band, discovered the song while researching the community band at the Historical Society and he brought it to the band's attention. The song was written by siblings Eben Lawson and Esther Lawson. The year of the song is undocumented.

Under the direction of Dennis Benson, the band will play the song Wednesday for their last summer concert, and Kris Jensen of Benson, will sing.

Prior to the performance, Jensen's band Custom Made will be performing at 7 p.m. There will be free popcorn and water for those attending.
