Offensive coordinator Jim Jackman works with the backs on Bierman Field, a practice area and home field for the eighth- and ninth-grade teams. Dragons head coach Jon Johnson said the field is being named after Bernie Bierman, the Litchfield native who was captain and All-America on the Minnesota Gophers' 1915 conference champion and later coached Minnesota's first national championship team in 1934. He would go on to coach five of the program's six national championship teams. Tribune photo by Rand Middl...1 / 2
