Prep Baseball: MACCRAY upends RCW

RAYMOND -- MACCRAY scored eight runs in the third inning to pull away from Renville County West and win a meeting of Camden North Conference unbeatens 15-2 in five innings.

The Wolverines (3-0, 4-0) scored eight runs with two outs when Brandon Madsen capped the inning with a two-run single.

Jordan Smith pitched a two-hitter for the win. Both RCW runs were unearned.

Losing pitcher Dakota Freiborg doubled and scored both runs for RCW (4-1, 4-1).

Madsen and Jordan Ruter had three hits each for MACCRAY.

Home runs in the first and second innings by Zach Doroff and Tyler Monson led Pierz to a 15-hit offensive explosion over BBE.

BBE failed to score any runs until scoring two in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Brandon Roelike, Justin Mathiason, Anthony Roon-ey and Alex Thompson spread the Jaguars' four hits on Pierz pitching.

New Ulm Cathedral (5-0, 6-1) took advantage of each of the Mustangs' six errors to earn the Camden victory.

Only three of the eight runs off Buffalo Lake-Hector starter Andy Fischer were earned. Andy Kalenberg singled and scored the only run for BLH (0-4, 0-4).

Cory Schroeder drove in two runs with a single and a double and also scored twice. Brendon Foss was 2-for-2.

In the second of two games for the Warriors (see above), Jake Stevens threw a five-inning two-hitter and the Warriors posted 15 runs in the first four innings. Stevens struck out six and walked four.

Shawn Dollerschell hit a three-run home run and finished with five RBI for the Warriors. Andy Stevens hit a two-run homer and Dylan Gass had two doubles in three hits.
