GLENWOOD -- A bunt by Minnewaska's Taylor Kollman squeezed out a 4-3 victory over Paynesville in eight innings on Thursday in the regular-season finale for both West Central South clubs.

The one-out tap brought in pinch runner Andrew Amundson from third base.

The Bulldogs (11-5, 13-7), who had earlier clinched the league title, will have the opportunity to avenge the defeat on Tuesday when they host the Lakers (9-7, 11-9) in the first round of playoffs.

Jordon Lieser's RBI single put Paynesville up 3-1 in the top of the fifth.

Minnewaska got one back in the lower part of the fifth and tied it 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh with an unearned run scoring on a on an Austin Giese fly out.

Eric Elbe, in relief of Dustin Helmick, got the win with three innings of hitless relief. Trenton Berg went 3-for-3 and scored twice.

Jason Kampsen belted a solo homer for Paynesville in the second. Josh Bungum, the third Bulldogs' pitcher took the loss.

The Wildcats belted three home runs in the last two innings, but Albany already held an 18-0 lead.

Adam Steinbach clubbed a solo shot in the fourth inning, then Jonathan Haverly led off the fifth with a solo homer, followed by a two-run blast from Luke Peterson.

Chaz Hennen hit a two-run homer and had four RBI for the Huskies. Brian Schlangen had three hits and drove in three runs.
