PAYNESVILLE — Is this a rebuilding year for the Bulldogs or are they just rearranging?

Paynesville is a modest 2-2 with a nearly all-new line-up after walloping ACGC 13-0 on Friday, but indications are these boys can play.

Just ask the Falcons after they were buried by a nine-run Dogs’ second and ended up on the short end of a five-inning no-hitter pitched by Nathan Meyer, the lone full-time starter back.

Meyer walked one and hit a batter and fanned six. He also had two hits on offense.

Trent Gertken smashed a 3-run homer in the second while Anthony Johnson, batting in the leadoff spot, triple in the second and homered, a solo, in the third, a ball that traveled an estimated 400 feet, according to Paynesville’s veteran head coach Brad Skoglund.

Paynesville ended up with 11 hits.  They sent 13 batters to the plate in the decisive second.

Jordan Nelson took the loss.
