Prep baseball roundup: LQPV blanks RCW

RENVILLE — Lac qui Parle Valley notched five runs in the first inning on 5 walks and 2 singles to put the game away early against Renville County West in a 10-0 win on Friday in Renville.

Eagles’ pitcher Eric Smith took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before allowing a two-out double to Mitch Treml. It was RCW’s only hit of the game.

Preston Kraft was 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI for the Eagles (6-0), and Jalen Baldwin had a hit and 2 RBIs.

The Jaguars play Monday at Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart.

LQPV hosts Central Minnesota Christian on Monday.
