RAYMOND — The MACCRAY Wolverines rallied for single runs in the bottom of the seventh and again in the eighth to nip Renville County West 9-8 on Monday at Lilleberg Field in Camden Conference baseball.

The Jaguars went up 8-7 in the top of the seventh on a two-run single by Hayden Johnson.

The home team tied it in the bottom of the frame on Tyler Donner’s one-out single to plate Caleb Melin and send the game to extra innings.

After Dylan Abraham retired the Jags in order, Derek Sommers reached on a throwing error, took third on a single by Jake Aviles and rushed home with the game-ending run on a single by Cheyton Holman to left.

Abrahamson, who took the hill with two out in the fifth, got the win. Donner finished with 3 hits and 4 RBI.

Lac qui Parle Valley scored 6 runs on 3 hits and 11 walks to beat Lakeview.

Eric Smith, Jalen Baldwin and Ben Morken each had one hit, with Baldwin’s going for a double.

The Eagles (2-0, 3-0) an RBI from Preston Kraft on a groundout, and in the sixth inning Cory Henneberg laid down a run-scoring suicide squeeze bunt with the bases loaded.

Smith pitched 5 innings with 7 strikeouts to earn the win for LQPV.

The Eagles threw out two runners on the basepaths to kill rallies in the second and sixth innings.

LQPV next plays today at MACCRAY.

The Bluejays debuted in Prinsburg with a sparkling effort edging the Vikings 2-1 on a combined 1-hitter by Sam Ohden and Austin Bulthuis.

Ohden didn’t allow a hit over five innings walking three and fanning six. Bulthuis gave up a single to opposing pitcher Jordan Beck, who scored on an error in the sixth inning.

Bulthuis delivered at the plate, also, going 3-for-3 with a double. Grant Hoekstra stole 5 bases.

Morris/Chokio-Alberta broke open a tied game with a five-run fifth inning, then tacked on four more in the seventh to down the Lakers in a league game on Monday.

MCA’s Chandler Erickson was 4-for-4, drove in a run and scored twice and Mac Beyer doubled twice and drove in three runs.

Jake Torgerson had two hits and drove in a pair of runs and also pitched 5-2/3 innings for the victory.

The Lakers’ Jake Amundson and Riley Thompson both had a two hits.

The Lakers take on Paynesville at 5 p.m. today in Glenwood.

Nathan Meyer struck out eight and retired the last 11 batters he faced after surrendering an RBI single in the fourth inning to earn a complete-game win for the Bulldogs in their opener.

Caleb Burris scored on an error in the first and Trent Gertken did the same in the fourth to account for Paynesville’s two runs. Burris doubled and singled, and Nick Dingmann also doubled for the Bulldogs.

A one-out triple from Jake Smith drove in the winning run for the Chargers in the sixth inning as the two teams traded runs in the first and third.

NLS (0-1, 1-2) took a quick 2-0 lead in the first when No. 2 hitter Jarrett Hatlestad doubled and Nick Bergeson followed with another double to knock in Hatlestad before advancing to third on a wild pitch and scoring on Aaron Clancy’s single.

Bergeson also doubled in the third and advanced to third on another wild pitch before scoring on Grant Vagle’s groundout.

Chargers’ starter Trent Krekelberg then kept NLS off the scoreboard to earn the complete-game win.

The BBE baseball team overwhelmed Eden Valley-Watkins with offense in the first game of a league doubleheader on Monday, but the Eagles’ Hayden Wilner three-hit the Jaguars in the second game.

BBE won game one 13-5 but fell 4-1 in the second game.

In game one, BBE’s Austin Jaeger had two hits and drove in four runs, James Kuefler doubled and drove in three and Matt Schmitz hit a pair of doubles.

Adam Heinze picked up the win and Schmitz didn’t allow a hit or walk and struck out three in three innings of relief.

In game two, Wilner struck out 10 Jaguars. Schmitz had two hits and drove in his team’s lone run.

The Jaguars are 1-1 in the CMC and overall and play next in a doubleheader Thursday at Rockford beginning at 4 p.m.
