PRINSBURG — It rained in Prinsburg forcing a 15-minute delay in the fifth inning of the Bluejays’ Camden showdown with Russell-Tyler-Ruthton but there was no lighting — until the bottom of seventh.

That’s when, with one out, T.J. Stoel walloped a thundering home run over the left field fence at city field driving home two Jays before him.

Ballgame! Central Minnesota Christian 5, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 4.

Lucas Van Eps, who had walked, and Nate Gerdes, who singled, scored in front.

That appears to put the Jays at 7-2 firmly in second-place in the Camden with the Knights dropping to 7-3. Lac qui Parle Valley has clinched first.

Nick Daugherty sparkled in his first start. He fashioned a 5-hitter with four walks and four strikeouts. His number came up with the team playing five games in five days and Canby on tap today, also at Prinsburg.

Sam Ohden’s first of two hits provided a run in the Jays’ 2-run first tying the game 2-2.  Gerdes, who was 2-for-3 with a double, prevented a run in the top of the seventh snagging a two-out line drive with a RTR runner on second.
