Austin Hiepler tripled twice and drove in four runs, all in the second inning, to lead the Thunder Hawks to their second win on Friday.

The T-Hawks defeated Redwood Valley 11-3 in an earlier game in Montevideo.

Jordan Thompson got the win, working four innings, allowing an unearned run on five hits while striking out four.

Montevideo is 6-3 overall and plays ACGC at 5 p.m. Monday in Montevideo.

A three-run sixth inning and solid pitching from Connor Staton and Jacob Connelly paced the Braves against Redwood Valley in a game played at Montevideo on Friday.

Taner Gimberlin, Cody Hammerschmidt and Chad Schwarz all had two hits and Hammerschmidt and Schwarz both drove in a pair of runs.

Staton got the win, working 5.1 innings and Connelly pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless relief to earn a save.

Benson is 3-5 overall and plays host to Minnewaska at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Four errors hurt the Falcons in a West Central Conference game Friday at Sauk Centre.

Five of the Mainstreeters’ runs were unearned and Will Funk pitched well, allowing just three hits, a walk and one earned run while striking out eight Falcons.

ACGC’s Colton Minnick doubled twice in three trips and drove in a run. Derek Dengerud had the Falcons’ other hit and Jordan Nelson drove in a run on a ground outl.

The Falcons play five games in four days this week, starting with another conference game at Montevideo at today.
