Albany (4-3) at New London-Spicer (3-4)

It's the time of year when section playoff seeding is at stake and this game carries big implications. NLS, which has lost four straight, not only needs to gain some momentum heading into the postseason but can make up some ground against Albany, the team just ahead of the Wildcats in Section 6AAA. This will be Albany's first section game while NLS is 1-0 against section opponents.

Sauk Centre (2-5, 2-5) at ACGC (5-2, 5-2)

ACGC is this close to the top seed in Section 4A (one-tenth of a point behind Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity). This season has not been kind to a usually tough Sauk Centre team but a win by Class A ACGC over the Class AAA Mainstreeters would be a boost for the Falcons. ACGC's Jordan Nelson is one of the area's top rushers this season and the Falcons defense has been strong, allowing an average of just 10 points per game after surrendering 34 in their season-opener.

Renville County West (0-7, 0-7)

at SW United (1-6, 1-6)

Either the Jaguars or Southwest United will double their win total over the past three seasons following this game. RCW is 1-22 since 2010 while SWU is 1-24. The Jaguars won over Lakeview last season while the Wildcats won in overtime over Granada-Huntley/East Chain/Truman earlier this year. As RCW assistant coach Mike Johnson noted, "This will be the biggest game of some of these kids' football careers -- a chance to walk off the field as a winner."
