Prep Football: Litch pushes top-ranked GSL to very end

LITCHFIELD -- The Dragons came within a field goal of tying No. 1-ranked Glencoe-Silver Lake at the buzzer on Friday in Litchfield.

With 1:40 left in the game, Litchfield stopped Glencoe-Silver Lake (4-0, 5-0) on the Dragons' half yard line. The Dragons then drove 80 yards down the field only to miss the 33-yard field goal at the buzzer.

Glencoe-Silver Lake took an early lead when they recovered a Litchfield fumble on the Dragons' 8 on the opening kickoff and kicked a field goal.

Litchfield quarterback Zach Kinny ran for a 2-yard touchdown to give the Dragons a 6-3 lead in the first quarter.

Glencoe-Silver Lake took the lead for good in the third quarter when Ryan Kuester pulled in a 22-yard pass from Keaton Anderson.
