NEW LONDON -- The Glencoe-Silver Lake Panthers showed off their methodical ground attack at New London's Peterson Field for the first time on Friday night.

By the time the night was over the No. 8 team in 4A had rolled to 262 yards on the turf in 59 snaps while marching to a 26-6 victory over Wright County newcomer New London-Spicer.

It was the first loss for the Wildcats (1-1, 3-1), formerly of the West Central Conference.

The Panthers (2-1, 3-1) had a short field the first half: scoring drives covered 29, 50 and 41 yards, the first benefiting from a Wildcat fumble on the opening kickoff.

Quarterback Keaton Anderson threw only five times the whole game but two went for scores the first half.

In the reshuffle of schools to create the Super 32, GSL is now the next to smallest school in 4A.

These schools met in the 3A Prep Bowl in 2009, NLS prevailing for the championship.

Jarret Hatlestad scored the NLS touchdown on a 31-yard pass play from Ryan Vraa in the fourth quarter. Hatlestad had 5 catches kfor 69 yards.

Daiton Johnson, Reid Johnson, Mitch Oman and Logan Brink were each in double figures for tackles.

The Panthers' Dalton Clouse and Ryan Kuester each topped 100 yards rushing .
