BENSON — BOLD finished off its regular season with a 36-0 shutout of Benson, the Warriors’ fifth win in a row, in a West Central Conference game on Wednesday at Brock Field.

Trevor Nissen caught for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Ben Steffel, Brad Wolff and Connor Riley each scored rushing touchdowns.

Steffel paced the Warriors with 104 rushing yards, and quarterback Lane Stadther passed for 110 yards on 7 completions.

BOLD already led 13-0 when the Braves lost quarterback Aaron Ahrndt to injury on their third possession after he was tackled on a fumbled snap from the center.

It didn’t get much better for Benson, as BOLD scored three more touchdowns, all before the fourth quarter.

The entire game lasted 1 hour and 40 minutes, with the last 12 minutes played continuously under the mercy rule.

Quarterback Blake Lindstrom connected with Chase Richter for an 83-yard touchdown reception and Yellow Medicine East snapped a 26-game losing streak, beating Morris/Chokio-Alberta 14-7 on Wednesday.

The Sting got their eventual game-winning score early in the fourth quarter, breaking a 7-7 tie, and held the Tigers the rest of the way.

Austin Vikander put YME on the board with a 16-yard touchdown run, and the Tigers tied it in the third on a 6-yard run by Isaac Wente.

The Sting finished their regular season 1-7. Their last win came on Oct. 26, 2010, against Lac qui Parle Valley in the first round of the Section 5AA playoffs.

The Fighting Saints were held winless in the regular season for the first time in recent memory as Osakis (2-4, 4-4) held Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg to just 4 first downs and 164 yards of offense.

Rylan Hatlestad’s 15-yard run in the third quarter was the only touchdown KMS could produce. Hatlestad ran for a team-high 69 yards and also hauled in 40 yards through the air after being on the receiving end on a couple of Jordan Engler completions.

Five different Jaguars scored touchdowns in a Southern Confederacy Conference victory over Southwestern United on Wednesday night in Danube.

David Marr score two first-half TDs, and Mason Schmitz, Hayden Johnson, Colin Thompson and Ryan Countryman also found the end zone in RCW’s first win of the season.

Countryman carried 15 times for 100 yards. Hayden Johnson hit 17 of 25 passes for 302 yards and connected with Thompson on a 43-yard TD.

Thompson caught 6 passes for 129 yards and he also was in on 10 tackles and intercepted 2 passes.

ACGC ripped Sauk Centre 31-6 on Wednesday in the regular-season finale for both West Central Conference teams.

The Falcons have won four straight games after a 2-2 start to the season. The Mainstreeters have lost three straight games and enter the postseason at 4-4 overall.

NEW LONDON — St. Peter produced three big-play touchdowns in the first half and shut down the New London-Spicer scoring machine in a 33-16 non-conference victory.

Saints quarterback Tom Steidler ran 51 yards for the game’s first score, then rambled 75 yards for another second-quarter TD. Teammate Keegan McCabe ran 65 yards for another touchdown that gave the Saints a 20-8 halftime lead.

In the fourth quarter, Steidler caught a 15-yard TD pass from receiver Cody Erickson.

The Wildcats, which fell to 6-2 overall, hurt themselves with four interceptions and three lost fumbles.

NLS’ Adam Essler carried 32 times for 175 yards and scored both Wildcats touchdowns.
