The Owls were 1-35 since beating Lincoln HI on Oct. 9, 2009, in Ivanhoe. They had received a forfeit victory two seasons ago.

The game’s only points came on the first drive as the Owls (1-6, 1-6) marched 80 yards in 5:24. Taylor Holleman capped the 12-play drive with a 1-yard scamper into the end zone. Holleman earlier completed a 22-yard pass to Anthony Koehl on a third down that placed the ball on the HLA 13.

Holleman piled up 178 yards for Hancock after running for 87 on 37 carries and throwing for 91 after completing 8 of 18 passes. Koehl hauled in 5 catches for 52 yards and also gained 46 yards on the ground behind 12 carries.

The Owls held the Comets (1-6, 1-6) to 197 yards and forced 3 turnovers. Koehl collected an interception while Will Osterman and Brandon Shaw both recovered a HLA fumble. Shaw also notched 2 sacks.

The Owls cap the regular season on Wednesday by hosting Underwood in a Tackle Cancer game.
