Prep football: T-Hawks soar past Braves


BENSON — Two first-quarter scores gave Montevideo a solid start and two big special play touchdowns sealed the deal in the Thunder Hawks’ 34-13 win over Benson in a West Central Conference game on Friday.

The Thunder Hawks won for the first time in three games and Benson fell to 1-2 overall.

Markus Kranz rushed for 97 yards and 2 TDs, and Bryce Maurice returned a second-quarter fumble 9 yards for a TD that put Montevideo up 18-6 at the half.
