Prep gymnastics: Cardinals 8th at Buffalo

BUFFALO — The Willmar gymnastics team placed 8th the Buffalo Invitational on Saturday.
The Cardinals’ top finishers were Cassie Johnson with an 8.95 in the floor, an 8.5 in the vault and a 7.9 on the bars, and Maddie Lindblad with an 8.1 on the beam.
The Cardinals competed without Alexis Miley and Stephanie Thompson, who were out with the flu, and without an injured Haley Mottinger, said coach Larry Selchow.
“This gave some well-deserved athletes an opportunity to step up and perform,” Selchow said. “It was a good meet.”
