Prep gymnastics: Cards top Paynesville with a 137

WILLMAR — The Willmar Cardinals entertained the Paynesville/EFW gymnastics team on Tuesday evening.
The Cardinals (3-2) registered a score of 137.6 while their guests totaled 111.375.
The Willmar score was their second best of the season; a 138.15 at the Marshall meet Saturday stands as the best.
The holiday break gave Willmar a chance to polish routines, noted coach Larry Selchow.
“Cassie Johnson had a great bars dismount and Haley Mottinger had a fantastic vault for a personal best,” said the coach. “Stephanie Thompson got us started on floor with a great routine. Overall we had a lot of good routines tonight.”
Johnson and Thompson finished 1-2 in overall. Heather Arnold had the best all-around score for Paynesville.
