Prep gymnastics: Willmar conquers Marshall meet

MARSHALL -- The Willmar Cardinals posted their best score - a 139.025 - with senior Abbey Weiler taking first in two events and all-around at the nine-school Marshall Gymnastics Invite on Saturday.

"Abbey had her best meet and this will be a confidence builder going into our meet at Fergus Falls {on Thursday}," said Willmar coach Larry Selchow. "We hit 3 routines on beam and overall hit our events the best all season."

Weiler scored 35.925 all-around. Cassandra Johnson was third (34.675) and Alexis Miley fifth (33.6).

Weiler won bars with an 8.3 score and took first on floor with a 9.325 from the judges.

New Ulm took second with a score of 131.6.
