Prep Hockey: Flyers overpower Cards at Little Falls tournament

LITTLE FALLS — The Little Falls Flyers improved to 9-1 beating the Willmar Cardinals 6-1 on Friday.

The first period ended scoreless but was 3-1 after two frames before the Flyers rifled in three more markers in the third.

Cole Hagen scored Willmar’s lone goal on an assist from Cole Block. Goalie Joey Benson stopped 32 shots.

In a rough game, seven penalties, including majors, were whistled on each team.

Willmar will meet Hutchinson at 2 p.m. today.
