LUVERNE — Logan Norman scored two goals and assisted on another to lead 16-0-1 Luverne to a 4-0 win over the Willmar boys hockey team on Saturday.

Norman and Jaxon Nelson scored first-period goals, and Norman iced the game 33 seconds into the third period with a goal on an assist from Jackson Frankenhoff. Gunnar Olson, who assisted on Norman’s first-period goal, scored himself on assists from Norman and Toby Sengvongxay on the power play at 8:08 of the third.

Willmar goalie Nick Revier made 22 saves.

Logan Kinsel broke a 1-1 tie with a second-period goal and Joey Luedtke scored twice and added an assist as Orono defeated the Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato boys hockey team on Saturday in Litchfield.

Alec Sparboe gave LDC a 1-0 lead with a power play goal in the first period and Isak Haataja scored unassisted in the third period. LDC goalie Braeden Wahl made 44 saves.

The Morris/Benson Area boys hockey team got goals from Nate Vipond, Ethan Stahman, Matt Hoffman, Bo Olson and Lincoln Pahl to put away Windom on Saturday.

Vipond opened the game with an unassisted goal, and the Storm led 4-0 before giving up two power play goals in 90-second span of the third period. Pahl ended any suspense with a power play goal at 9:24 of the third.

The River Lakes boys hockey team scored twice in the third period to force a tie, but Fergus Falls’ Kyler Peterson scored with fewer than two minutes remaining in the game to lead the Otters to a 4-3 win Saturday at Koronis Civic Arena in Paynesville.

River Lakes’ Eric Zimmer opened the scoring in the second period but Fergus Falls’ scored three straight goals to take a two-goal lead into the third.

River Lakes’ Derek Boonstra scored unassisted one minute into the third period and Matthew Prozinski followed with the tying goal eight minutes later.

River Lakes goalie Nicholas Skluzacek made 29 saves.

Girls Hockey

WILLMAR — Annie Johnston staked the Willmar Cardinals to a quick 2-0 lead but the Bluejackets would come from behind to grab a 5-3 win at the Cardinal Arena on Saturday evening.

The visitors tied it 2-2 on Jordan Ramey’s power play goal at 10:05 of second period but Willmar went up again, 3-2, on Riley Schneider’s power play shot 54 seconds later.

The Class AA co-op of Cambridge-Isanti/Mora/Pine City scored twice before the period finished and then added an empty netter in the game’s last minute.

Outshot 48-26 Willmar fell to 3-13-1 while the Jackets went to 4-14.
