HOLDINGFORD -- Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa pushed across three runs in the top of the eighth inning and held on to beat Holdingford 11-10 in a Central Minnesota conference slugfest on Monday.


The teams combined for 27 hits.

Holdingford (10-3) tied it 8-8 with three runs in the bottom of the seventh.

In the top of the eighth, BBE's Morgan Knutson singled, stole second and scored on a double by Raeann Sorenson. Sorenson scored on a groundout. The third run scored on an error.

Sorenson went 4-for-5 with a double and three RBI, Emily Roelike 3-for-5 with five stolen bases and Knutson 3-for-5.

Michelle Sanders got the win and Laura Johnson the save for BBE (6-3, 8-4).

Winning pitcher Sam Felt threw the first six innings, allowing two hits and walking one to lift Redwood Valley (7-4).

Randi Tubbs' two hits produced three runs for the Cardinals. Leah Penske, who went 2-for-4, pitched a scoreless seventh inning.

Jenna Hennen took the loss for Minneota/Canby (3-8).

The Tigers sent 15 batters to the plate and amassed 10 hits during an 11-run third inning.

Dani Schultz and Alissa Melberg had two hits each in the frame and Mary Rentz doubled and hit a sacrifice fly for three RBI.

Courtney Vogel added a three-run homer and Kelsey Greenwaldt doubled and tripled in back-to-back innings.

McKenzie Weatherly pitched a five-inning nine-hitter for the win. Livi Jeseritz, Lauren Trudel and Aimee Johnson all had two hits for Yellow Medicine East.

Ashley Magnuson went all five innings for the Sting.
