MONTEVIDEO -- Sara Beyer's bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning broke up a 1-1 game and Morris went on to spill Montevideo 6-2 in West Central South softball on Thursday.

Singles by Shadow Olson and Dani Schultz, plus a walk, loaded the bases for Beyer.

Morris (8-7, 11-7) led 1-0 on an RBI single by Haley Henrichs. Montevideo answered in the bottom of the third when Carly Beals singled and scored on Emily Johnson's double.

Jaci Clauson doubled home Montevideo's second run.

Schultz and Henrichs both had three hits and Schultz scored three times.

Kelsey Amundson pitched the first four innings for the win. Mackenzie Weatherly went the last three innings for the save.

Morris (9-7, 12-7) hit four straight singles to start the bottom of the first inning, then Sara Beyer connected on a two-run single to highlight a four-run inning.

Haley Henrich led the Tigers with three hits. Mackenzie Weatherly allowed seven hits, struck out nine and walked three in the shutout victory.

Brenna Holwerda clubbed two doubles to lead the Warriors. Christy Gass and Brittany Dahlk also had two hits each.

The game was a makeup from May 8 and was played in Montevideo.
