Prep Softball: Fisher hits 3 homers in Litchfield's first win
Tribune Staff Reports
ROCKFORD -- Junior Kelsey Fisher slugged three home runs and worked all 10 innings in the pitcher's circle to propel Litchfield to its first win of the season as the Dragons edged Rockford 5-4 Friday in a non-conference game.
The Dragons (1-8) got off to a fast start when their first three hitters scored. Britny Christensen drew a walk to lead off the game and stole second before scoring on Natasha Stubeda's single. Fisher then followed with a two-run homer that sailed over the fence in right-center.
Fisher later led off the sixth and 10th innings with solo home runs to right-center.
Rockford plated three runs in the bottom half of the seventh to tie the game at 4-4. The Rockets had runners on first and second when Fisher notched a strikeout to end the inning and extend the game.
Fisher didn't give up an earned run and finished with four strikeouts while scattering eight hits and two walks. Rockford didn't produce a threat over the final three innings.
Christensen added two singles and Ali Schafer also singled for the Dragons.
