Prep Softball: Foley avenges loss to New London-Spicer

NEW LONDON -- New London-Spicer dominated the first three innings of its West Central North Conference softball clash with Foley by scoring six runs, but the Falcons came back with five runs in the seventh to tip the league leaders 8-7 Tuesday.

The Wildcats (8-1, 8-2), who have lost two straight after starting the season 8-0, beat Foley 15-4 on April 3 in Foley.

Katie Kotsmith hit a two-run single in the top of the seventh to give Foley (1-4, 2-4) an 8-7 lead.

The Wildcats stranded a runner at second base in the seventh. NLS was held to two hits in the last three innings.

Jenna Moritz went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI to lead the Wildcats. Taylor Thompsen and Karli Wendlandt also had two hits apiece.
