GLENWOOD -- Cassie Jacobs doubled in Abby Kreitlow with the winning run with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday as Minnewaska knocked off Yellow Medicine East 5-4 in West Central South Conference softball action.

Kreitlow doubled and advance to third on a groundout before Jacobs hit her double to give the Lakers their ninth straight win.

Minnewaska improved to 6-1 in the conference and 10-1 overall. YME dipped to 2-5, 5-5.

The win went to reliever Laura Paulson. She relieved Alicia Pfeninger with two out in the sixth when YME scored all its runs. She got the final out on a strikeout and stranded the go-ahead run on third. In the seventh, she fanned two more.

Livi Jeseritz, Steph Larson and Ashly Sneller had RBI hits in the sixth for the Sting.

Jaci Clauson's bases-loaded triple in the fifth inning broke a 1-1 tie and lifted the Thunder Hawks to the victory. Kayla Berget added two hits and scored two runs.

Brenna Holwerda, Christy Gass and Jasmine Ervin led the Warriors with two hits each.

Christy Gass came up an error short of a perfect game, throwing five innings of no-hit ball. Gass struck out nine without any walks. The Warriors committed an error in the fifth.

Brenna Holwerda hit a two-run home run in the nine-run second inning for BOLD (4-2, 5-4). She had three hits overall, joining Gass with three hits to lead the team.

Jennifer Paul led a 21-hit attack for the Bulldogs with three hits and five RBI.

Whitney Woehler, who itched a two-hitter for the win, rapped a triple and three singles and scored three runs for Paynesville. Keely Meagher and Jessica-Lee Klein had three hits apiece for the Bulldogs.

Woehler walked two and struck out four.

Kelsey Greenwaldt had a run-scoring double for Morris.

Morris Area's Sara Beyer hit a two-run homer in the third inning and followed with another two-run shot in the sixth.

After being handcuffed in the first game by Whitney Woehler, the Tigers scored seven times off her in 31/3 innings, although none of the runs were earned.

Mary Rentz also had two hits for the Tigers.

Jessica-Lee Klein crack-ed a solo home run in the fourth inning for the Bulldogs.
