RAYMOND -- The MACCRAY Wolverines kept their powder dry as rain moved in from the west long enough to defeat Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 14-5 in Camden Conference fastpitch on Tuesday.


With lighting streaking through the grey overcast, the game was called after MACCRAY batted in the top of the seventh and declared an official six-inning game. The nightcap will be rescheduled.

The game was tied 4-4 after two innings.

The Wolverines (5-1, 7-1) piled up eight runs in the top of the third.

Hailey Goeman smacked a run-scoring double, Kyra Luepke, Robin Flores and Laura Hauser each added RBI singles.

Goeman got the win on a 10-hitter.

The Wolverines accumulated 16 hits, three by Paige Ammermann and two each by Molly Firese, Goeman, Erica Bonnema and Flores.

Benson/Hancock 18, LQPV 5

Benson/Hancock's seven-run second all but settled the score in a West Central South Conference game Tuesday at Laq qui Parle Valley High School.

Alyssa Hughes had three hits and scored three runs, and Mackenzie Jensen and Kayla Jones both had a pair of hits. Jensen scored three runs and Jones scored twice.

Jones picked up the win, working five innings and striking out five.

LQPV's Tara Laechelt tripled and doubled, and Trisha Bormann scored two of the Eagles' runs.

LPQV plays a doubleheader at ACGC beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday.
