MORRIS -- Dani Schultz singled with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Morris to a 4-3 win over Yellow Medicine East Friday in the final West Central South Conference softball game for both teams.

The Tigers (11-5, 14-6) entered the seventh tied 3-3 after the Sting (7-9, 9-10) scored twice in the sixth.

Mackenzie Weatherly went the distance for the win. She allowed five hits, struck out 13 and didn't allow a walk.

Taylor Bruflat took the loss for YME. She allowed four hits, struck out seven and walked one.

Montevideo 6, LQPV 5

Becca Pauling went 3-for-4 and drove in a run as Montevideo swept the season series with Lac qui Parle Valley.

Emily Johnson had two hits for the Thunder Hawks (8-7, 10-8), who beat LQPV 9-4 in the first meeting on April 15. Jaci Clauson, Karrissa Larson, Courtney Schmitt, Chelsea Larson and Kelsey Quigley drove in a run each for Montevideo.

Karley Weir and Colleen Wagner had three hits each for the Eagles (2-14, 2-16). Rachel Streich was 2-for-4 and drove in three runs.

Shelby Monahan picked up the win, weathering 12 hits and three walks, while striking out eight.

BBE 2, Royalton 1

Michelle Sanders struck out seven straight batters at one point and was responsible for driving in the winning run as Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa advanced to the second round. The Jaguars (6-11) will face top-seeded Osakis at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Glenwood.

Anna Marthaler and Brittany Roelike, who had three hits, both singled to open the bottom half of the seventh inning and Marthaler tied the game at 1-1 by scoring on an error. BBE later loaded the bases and Morgan Knutson, who had reached on a fielder's choice, came home with the winning run when Sanders' 6-3 grounder pulled the Royalton first baseman off the bag.

Sanders struck out 12, didn't walk a batter and gave up four hits in her complete-game performance.
