Prep softball: Morris/CA shuts out Monte

MONTEVIDEO -- McKenzie Van Batavia threw a two-hitter and she also had two hits and drove in two runs in the Morris/Chokio-Alberta softball teams' 8-0 win at Montevideo on Wednesday.

Van Batavia worked a complete game and struck out eight.

Sadie Fischer had three hits and three RBIs, and Brooke Johnson, Tracy Meichsner and Steph Hennen also drove in runs for the Tigers.

Dani Emkes and Hannah Kuno had the Thunder Hawks' two hits.

The T-Hawks are 3-5 and play next at Yellow Medicine East at 5 p.m. today.
