Prep softball roundup: Lakers sink ACGC

GLENWOOD — The Minnewaska softball team scored runs in every inning and defeated ACGC 12-2 in five innings on Tuesday in the season-opener for both teams.

Allyssa Engfer had a double among her two hits and she drove in two runs, and Shanae Suchy singled twice and scored three runs.

Kacia Kollman drove in two runs and Morgan Majerus, Carly Stewart and Bayley Pooler all had runs batted in.

Lakers pitcher Mady Phillips worked five innings, allowing an unearned run and striking out six.

Riley Wilner, Jacey Nelson, Hannah Wilner and Katie Peterson all had hits for the Falcons.

The Lakers travel to Yellow Medicine East for a 5 p.m. game Thursday against the Sting.

Hannah Kuno had 4 hits and 2 RBIs and Kelsey Olson had 3 hits and 3 RBIs for the T-Hawks in their season-opening win.

Whitney Bartz was 2-for-5 and scored twice and Kiersti Grey worked five innings to pick up the win.

Hailey Enstad had three hits and scored twice, and Megan Odegard also had two singles and scored a run for the Sting.
