McKenzie Van Batavia threw a no-hitter in the first game with five strikeouts.

Only one BraveOwl reached base, in the sixth, on a grounder that caromed off the pitching slab and to the shortstop, who mishandled the ball — a tough play but the scorer ruled it wasn’t a clean enough hit to break up a no-hitter in the sixth.

Brooke Johnson and Abbie Olson provided offense combining for three hits with a double by Olson to score a run.

The game was 1-0 through five when the Tigers broke loose for four more runs.
