SAUK RAPIDS -- The Willmar Cardinals sustained their first loss on the softball field on Thursday, a 6-0 setback to the Sauk Rapids Storm.

Jenni Rasmussen threw a smart four-hitter, all singles. She didn't walk a Cardinal and struck out only two as her fielders played errorless defense.

The Cardinals, after a 4-0 start, weren't sharp in the field and quickly fell behind 5-0 after two innings.

Willmar pitcher Heather Horning gave up nine hits, walked one and fanned six.

The Storm's Rachel Paulsen went 3-for-3 with a solo homer in the fourth to conclude the scoring.
