Prep Softball: Trudel, YME blank KMS; Jeseritz drives in winning run in 6th

GRANITE FALLS -- Livi Jeseritz singled in the game-winning run with two outs in the last of the sixth inning as Yellow Medicine East nipped Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 1-0 in a non-conference softball game on Friday.

With one out in the sixth inning, Aimee Johnson's ground ball was misjudged on the left side of the KMS infield, allowing her to advance all the way to third. With two outs, Jeseritz singled her home.

Each team was held to four hits. Steph Larson of YME (4-1) doubled for the game's lone extra-base hit and Briana Baker had two singles to lead KMS (4-1).

Allie Trudel went the distance for the win, striking out eight and walking three.

Sam Dunn took the loss, allowing two hits and striking out six in four innings of relief.

BBE came back from a five-run deficit in the bottom of the fifth inning by scoring seven runs on six straight singles.

Laura Johnson earned the win in relief for the Jaguars and also drove in two runs. She hurled 61/3 innings and allowed four hits and one earned run, while walking none and striking out seven. Sarah Spinelli had two hits for BBE.

Jessica Rosendahl pitched a six-inning one-hitter, striking out seven as the Wildcats improved to 5-0.

Brianna Jacobson led NLS by going 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBI. Jenna Moritz followed with a 3-for-4 performance. Rosendahl also drove in two runs. Karli Wendlandt and Bethany Bostron had two hits each.

Kourtney Nelson had the lone hit for Sauk Centre.
